1952

Chore-Time Equipment was started in August, in Alliance, Ohio.

1954

Chore-Time moved to Milford, Indiana.

1957

Brock Manufacturing was founded in Milford.

1967

First European office established in Maldegem, Belgium.

1972

The Pockman Cage Company of Decatur, Alabama, was purchased.

1976

CTB was established. This was an acronym for the company’s two principal brands at the time, Chore-Time and Brock.

1980

CTB purchased Swish Watering.

1983

CTB formed Chore-Time Brock International to promote and sell Chore-Time and Brock products overseas.

1996

CTB entered into a partnership with American Securities Capital Partners, forming CTB International Corp.

1997

CTB purchased the grain bin division of Butler Manufacturing, the company that pioneered the grain bin business in 1907, located in Kansas City, Missouri. CTB acquired Fancom B.V., a provider of market-leading computerized controls and software for agriculture, located in the Netherlands with a subsidiary in France. 1998

CTB acquired Sibley Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of brooders and heaters located in Anderson, Missouri; and Staco, Inc., a producer of pig feeders and ventilation products.

1999

CTB acquired Roxell N.V., a leading manufacturer of feeding and watering systems for poultry and pigs, based in Maldegem, Belgium, with an additional location in Arkansas.

2000

CTB acquired ABC Industries’ handling equipment for the grain industry.

2001

CTB consolidated its Anderson, Missouri, and Springdale, Arkansas, facilities in Anderson and named the combined operation Agile Mfg., Inc.

2002

CTB became a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.A; BRK.B) CTB acquired key assets of Shenandoah Manufacturing Co., Inc., a leading manufacturer of poultry heaters, nests and incinerators. CTB acquired assets of Swine Service Specialists, Inc., a leading manufacturer of pig feeding equipment.

2006

CTB acquired a controlling interest in Yan Agro Logic (1988) Ltd., located in Israel, a manufacturer of climate controllers; feed and poultry weighing systems; and other integrated systems.

2007

CTB was presented with a Half Century Award by Indiana’s governor in recognition of longevity and community service in the state of Indiana. CTB acquired B. Mannebeck Landtechnik GmbH, located in Germany, a manufacturer of pig production equipment including electronic sow feeding and other feeding systems, animal-friendly stalls and crates, and plastic flooring. CTB acquired Uniqfill International B.V., located in the Netherlands, a designer of chemical and combination chemical/biological air scrubbers for animal livestock and other applications.

2010

CTB acquired the assets of Shore Sales of Illinois, Inc. of Rantoul, Illinois, a designer and marketer of moisture testers for the grain, seed, coffee, milling, processing and farm markets.
